Simone is a progressive and commercial human resources leader with extensive experience shifting and shaping cultures that produce innovation for market leaders.
Joining REA Group in May 2009 in an acting role, Simone soon moved permanently into the position of Executive General Manager of Human Resources after successfully completing REA Group’s recruitment process.
In August 2013, Simone took on the expanded role of Executive General Manager of People and Brand. A new function at REA Group, the team was specifically created to unify the disciplines of human resources and marketing strategy, further enhance the organisational culture and build the Group’s brands.
With more than 15 years of human resources experience, including seven years’ of experience in senior management human resources roles, Simone has been assigned or invited to work as a business partner or executive coach with leaders of Sensis, Medibank Private and Truvo (Europe).
Her experience spans a range of industries, including market leaders in electricity, FMCG, advertising/media and health insurance businesses. Each company that Simone has worked for has had looked to maintain and increase their leading market share through a combined operational and people management strategy. Simone’s experience is founded in industrial relations practice which has proven to be a sound background for Human Resources related advice and decision making in evolving organisations.
In Australia, Simone has held Human Resources and industrial relations roles with Medibank Private, Sensis, Kraft Foods, and Snowy Hydro Limited, a leading supplier of financial hedge and renewable energy products in the National Electricity Market. Prior to joining REA Group, she was based in the Netherlands as Group HR Manager of directories business Truvo, a specialised sales and marketing company focusing on local search and advertising products. Simone has a passion for company results focused human resources management and has enjoyed being a part of the cultural and commercial success achieved by each of these organisations.
With a passion for people management and skills in creating employee value propositions, Simone has played a vital role in managing large and geographically-diverse teams in fast-paced digital environments.
Simone holds a Bachelor of Business from Charles Sturt University majoring in human resource management and industrial relations
She is a long term member of the American Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI). Away from work, her interests include playing with her daughter, food, wine, travel, oil painting, interior design and singing.
